LEADERSHIP STYLE & ATTRIBUTES

An In-Depth Examination of My Leadership Style and Attributes
A leader is an individual who guides, motivates, and influences others toward a common goal. They possess the ability to inspire, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions, fostering positive change and empowering their team to achieve success. My name is Rana, as an experienced pharmacist and a passionate leader, I have developed a hybrid leadership style that melds the transformational and charismatic approaches. My professional journey has afforded me opportunities to hone various skills that align with these leadership styles. This business report will outline my strengths, areas for improvement, and my overall perspective as a leader. This self-analysis is strengthened by three self-
assessments as well as colleague testimonials, providing a comprehensive overview of my leadership strengths and areas for development. 1.
Leadership Style
As revealed in my self-evaluations, my leadership approach seamlessly merges transformational and charismatic traits. I am passionate about motivating my team and fostering an environment that encourages personal and professional growth. My charismatic leadership is displayed through my ability to inspire, instill enthusiasm, and articulate a persuasive vision, which aligns the team with shared objectives (PRESence Assessment, 2023).
2.
Strengths
2.1 People Management
The people management assessment depicts me as a leader who values motivation, positive reinforcement, and inspiring others. The 'Expressive' and 'Amiable' characteristics from the communication style assessment (35% and 25%, respectively) (Self-Assessment, 2023), support these observations. I strive to establish genuine connections, share meaningful stories, and interact with others on a personal level.
In this context, Lea, a colleague I trained during my PharmD training, attested, "Rana's personal empowerment and support were invaluable during our challenging hospital rotations. Her encouragement helped me keep pushing and made working in tough times more manageable."
2.2 Business Acumen
The strategic skills assessment shows my aptitude in operational efficiency, process optimization, quality assurance, and project management. This aligns with the 'Analytical' component from the communication style assessment (20%), (Self-Assessment, 2023), mirroring
my preference for data-driven decision-making.
2.3 Strategic Competencies
My strategic skills, including change management, adaptability, and crisis management, are echoed by the 'Driver' component of the communication style assessment (20%) (Self-

The path-goal theory of leadership emphasizes the importance of leaders clarifying the path to goal attainment for their followers and providing the necessary support and guidance to help them achieve those goals. According to this theory, effective leaders engage in behaviors that remove obstacles, provide incentives, and offer support to facilitate the success of their followers. These behaviors may include offering coaching and feedback, setting clear expectations, and adjusting their leadership style to fit the needs of individual followers and the demands of the situation. By actively supporting their followers in overcoming challenges and reaching their objectives, leaders can enhance motivation, satisfaction, and ultimately, performance within the organization.
Question: How can leaders effectively tailor their leadership behaviors to the specific needs and preferences of their followers, while also maintaining consistency and clarity in their approach?
