These short and simple paragraphs convey Christopher’s thoughts and opinions towards his mother’s death. Additionally, the interactions from other characters show complications Christopher has relating with others as evident “Then she [Mrs. Alexander] turned and went into the house…I didn’t know her well enough to know whether she was telling the truth…So I walked away.” (pg. 41) As the protagonist is unaware of Mrs. Alexander’s intent of goodwill, Christopher is unable to presume this, thus left. One day when his father wasn't home he went in his room and started looking around. After some time he found letters from his mom. He became curious about his mother’s death. When he was in the middle of all the letters he started getting traumatized by what he found out. Some time later his dad came in the room and saw and he was very worried.
Tears come out in short spurts like triplets from a tap. He went to church today hoping to be forgiven for his negative thoughts about his mother, the letter and the past which from time to time always comes back to haunt him when he lest expects. On this a occasion it’s the day before his birthday which looks like it is going to be a non-event due to his tortured state of mind. Then again, why should it be? Why should he let someone who he loves not in a conventional way like most mothers and son’s love? There is no heart to heart, hugs, kisses and moral support in this relationship. There has always been some kind of conflict whether that be directly or in directly. Christopher cannot recall having a conversation with his mother about his sexuality, relationships or aspirations and struggles to comprehend why she chooses to condemn
In this part of the novel, Christopher reveals the secret of his mother’s death. He recognizes that his mom isn’t dead by finding the letter from Christopher’s mom. Also, like other parts of the novel, Christopher also mentions some minor informations to readers, which are not directly linked to main plot.

And father had lied about this (Haddon 112).” Another factor that contributed to the fear Christopher held towards his dad was the fact that in his relationship with his mother wasn’t broken. With his dad, Christopher got into fights and when he found out that his mother wasn 't really dead it shattered any trust he had in his father. His mother, on the other hand didn 't have a broken relationship with him. She may have left him, but in his mind lying to him
Karkat sighed as he messily slung his bag over his shoulder, Kanaya giving him a perturbed glance. "This building is much bigger than my old schools, how many students go here exactly?" She questioned. Karkat mustered the best smile he could and looked up at her. "You'll be fine, it's only 900 or so."
As they neared the strangely moving mist, their pace quickened. The thought of a possible methane pool invoked a surge of energy they did not realise they had. Tamblin, in particular was slightly ahead of the other two and as he got to the top of small rise, he shouted something and descended down the other side.
