1. Was there a time when you were really frustrated in your elementary PE class? What were the circumstances?
PE class was my favorite thing about elementary school! On PE days, I was excited to get to school. Since I loved PE I did not get frustrated a lot, but when I did it was because I had gotten out in a game such as dodgeball, had to wait in line to kick, or play just defense while participating in hockey. Although I loved these games, I did not like waiting to participate or be the one not being able to score.
2. What was your favorite activity during your elementary PE class?
My favorite activity in elementary PE was hockey. I loved playing this because it was something that we only got to do during the winter and not something I could just play outside with my family and friends. I also loved the physical and competitive part of hockey. As mentioned earlier, I did not like it when I was designated as the defensive player because I loved to be the

At my school we only had PE every three days for a half an hour. I would have loved having it every day! Although we had recess every day, I liked the structure of PE and how everyone participated.
4. What do you see as the greatest challenge facing you as a physical educator?
Since I am going to be a classroom teacher, the biggest challenge I will face is having enough time to incorporate physical activity into the classroom. Physical activity has always been important in my life and I have enjoyed being physically active and I recognize the importance of teaching students to live this type of lifestyle. For this reason, I will strive to incorporate it into content areas as much as possible. Because schools are pushing the importance of reading and math, I hope I find a teaching job that supports this type of teaching and learning!
5. The contribution that PE makes to the development of the whole child
or physical education with mrs. Fluit, but we had a substitute teacher who I like more than any other physical education teacher I have had in school. For the activities in P.E. we listened to some rules like no chewing gum in class, be respectful, always wear your P.E. clothes when you do the activities, no slacking during the activities because you will lose a lot of hard earned points, and make sure you don't go in the taped off area, that's for teachers only. After they finished telling us the rules, we got our planners and some other papers for our parents to sign as well as a nametag that we got to design by
What a horrible horrible day it was. It all started the first day of 6th grade here at Memorial Middle School. My mom walked in with me to get my schedule because we didn’t go to open house. I went up to my protime and it was in the art room with Mrs. Teerink. My mom sat down at a table with me and I was really scared and embarrassed. Then, to make it even worse, I started bawling my eyes out. While a lot of people walked in, and by a lot of people it was like 20, but it felt like it was a million.
5. Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
Let me take you back to a time filled with pure joy fueled by a foundation of knowledge. For most, Valley Road Elementary School, appears to be simply a school. Yet its meaning is beyond that straightforward of a definition and much more lies within the walls. Valley Road will forever have a place in my heart as I recall all the great memories from the recorder concerts, book fairs, halloween parades, and cake walks. I have gained an immense amount of knowledge from my time there. Overall, it allowed me to aspire to dream and shaped me into the leader you see today. I found passions that drove me to attain such outstanding accomplishments and successes.
What have you learned from the assessment, guided reading, and tutoring experiences that you would be able to apply in your future classroom?
The national curriculum states that ‘PE develops pupils’ competence and confidence to take part in a range of physical activities that become a central part of their lives, both in and out of school.’ (QCDA, 2008)
The key aims of PE on the national curriculum focusses on a healthy lifestyle developing competence across several physical activity areas and for children to be active for sustained periods of time and encouraging children to engage in competitive activities and sports (Smith 2014. P213).
P.E is my favorite subject in school because we get to learn about all sports. PE is fun we do units on every sport for example volleyball , basketball and football. So at P.E we get to play games we have different games for different sports so like if were in the basketball unit we would play keep away. Every tuesday we run a full lap around all the soccer goals are P.E teacher Mr.Fontaine he wants us to improve on are running.after every unit we take a test on that sport that's a big part of are P.E grade.

The activities that i'm involved in, inside of school are Marching Band. The Albert Lea High School Marching Band is during the summer and lasts about a week. It’s a blast and I meet new friends, also 8th Graders are allowed to do marching band and us upper kids help them with marching and memorizing the music. I also do regular Band class here at school. I play the Flute and are now learning how to play the Tuba, during the marching band season I do Drumline. I use to play softball and volleyball. Softball wasn’t the greatest, I mean getting hit in the face with softballs isn’t fun, other than that I had a great time and games and the girls on my team were the nicest. I played volleyball for 3 years. I had to skip a year of volleyball to plan my Quinceanera. This year, my sophomore year, I tried out for volleyball. Sadly I didn’t make it. Even though i was bummed out, I learned to cope with it.
Back in third grade, I attended a boarding school in China. After sitting through long hours of lecture, I found PE a welcoming relief. One day during an intense relay race, I was entrusted to be the anchor for my team. We were behind by a small margin, but I managed a comeback and secured our victory. After the race, the track coach recruited me on the spot. It was a huge honor because only a select few were on the team.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
Flintoff & Scraton (2001:10) explain from their study that pupils see the key purpose of PE as ‘a break from academic work’. Jones & Cheetham, (2001:90) also found this as a key theme in their study with pupils explaining how PE is a ‘break’ from other academic subject ‘such as English and maths’. However, the pupils could also recognise that the main purpose of PE was to be active and participate in sport but this was not what the pupils valued most from the
In Adapted PE it was unusual not to hear laughter echoing through gym. It only took a game of noodle tag for me to understand how rewarding and enjoyable this experience would be. However, occasionally a peer would not want to partake in an activity after having a rough day. Getting the students to participate taught me a great deal of patience
In my practicum, I was placed in a Physical Education (P.E.) classroom at Robert Asp Elementary. I was in the gym a majority of the time, with occasionally being outside. Most of the time, I was with first grade and fifth grade. A few times I was also with second, third, and fourth grade. Because of the setting I was in, there would be one class for thirty minutes, and then they would switch and another class would come in for thirty minutes. One day a week, we had health and on that day, one class would be in the gym for a full hour and we would only have one class of that grade instead of two.
